Group of Political, Moral and Legal Philosophy of the University of Barcelona

Isocratia is a research and debate group created within the Faculty of Law of the University of Barcelona.

The name of the group is formed by the Greek roots "ισος", which means "equal", and "kράτος", "power" or "government". The term designates a political system in which all citizens possess equivalent political powers, which is a sine qua non condition for it to be possible to speak of democracy.

The word is also intended to describe the nature of the research carried out and the projects and activities promoted by the group in a global context of widespread de-democratization of the systems of government and the erosion of political power vis-à-vis corporate economic powers.
